Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join the Rogel Cancer Center in Ann Arbor. You will deliver outpatient oncology care, participate in clinical trials, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage treatment plans, active therapies, and supportive needs.

Responsibilities include monitoring protocols, handling infusion reactions, and long-term follow-up, with involvement in research and tumor board activities.

Qualifications

• >2 years of APP experience
• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
• Current specialty certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP, Adult NP or FNP)
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
• Current DEA registration required
• AHA approved BLS
• Clinical experience as an APP in the management of oncology patients in the outpatient setting
• Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or predecessor
• Certification by NCCPA
• Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Michigan
• State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required
• Current DEA registration required
• AHA Approved BLS
• Clinical experience as an APP in oncology outpatient setting

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of patients receiving treatment protocols including any combination of systemic therapy, radiation, or surgery.
• Direct care and management of patients in the outpatient setting including history and physical, evaluation, plan of care, eligibility for clinical trials, education and support, collaboration with physicians.
• Management of infusion reactions, drug toxicities, wound care, or pain; review of labs/imaging results.
• Longitudinal follow-up for disease surveillance and late effects of treatments.
• Assessment and management of psychological distress and navigation of complex care.
• Participation in clinical research and attendance at tumor board.
• Collaboration with other specialties for comprehensive care; coverage for APP colleagues when needed.
• Participation in CME activities and programmatic meetings, including Cancer Center meetings.
