Responsibilities include coordinating travel, ordering drug tests, and communicating with safety, operations, and client managers to ensure DOT and company standards are met.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with 1 year of related experience in a fast-paced office or call center.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Aptitude to learn new computer programs quickly and communicate ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Document all contact with driver-applicants across systems to improve communications and compliance.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for driver-applicants and communicate details to internal partners.
  • Arrange pre-employment drug tests to meet DOT and company standards.
  • Share pertinent onboarding information with safety, operations, and compliance personnel.
  • Inform applicants who do not meet requirements, while keeping them engaged for future opportunities.
  • Promote the company to applicants during the recruiting process.
  • Ensure applicants receive job descriptions and onboarding location details.
  • Screen phone applications and schedule onboarding activities, gathering required DOT and company paperwork.

Job Title: Onboarding Specialist I

Under routine supervision, this position completes DOT applications and onboards commercial, non-commercial, and contract drivers. The Onboarding Specialist documents information from driver applicants during the hiring process and assists drivers throughout the onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize various systems to document all contact with driver-applicants to improve internal communications and maintain compliance
  • Request, order, and provide driver applicants’ travel arrangements using company software and communicating with internal partners (client managers and operations personnel) for potential details and hotel arrangements
  • Order driver-applicants’ pre-employment drug tests using company software to ensure DOT and company standards are met
  • Gather and communicate pertinent information for safety, operations, and compliance personnel using various internal and external systems required for company policies and DOT regulations
  • Inform driver-applicants who do not meet hiring requirements that they are currently ineligible, but keep the driver interested in working for J.B. Hunt for a future time
  • Continue to promote the company to driver-applicants in the recruiting process.
  • Ensure drivers have all pertinent information such as job descriptions and onboarding location.
  • Receive phone applications, screen, and schedule qualified driver-applicants for onboarding and gather all required DOT and company paperwork for applicants using multiple systems to ensure DOT requirements are met before hire
  • Balance inbound and outbound calls within a call center
  • Develop and maintain relationships with driver-applicants through verbal and written communication to ensure engagement and readiness through the onboarding process.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED with 1 year of related experience, such as in a fast-paced office or call center, and/or military equivalent experience AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Aptitude to learn new computer programs quickly
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Dynamics or ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems)
  • Ability to maintain professionalism during challenging conversations and high-pressure situations
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Provide superior service resulting in a favorable perception of the company
  • Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and web-based platforms with speed and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment that shares common goals and daily expectations

Compensation

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
