Job summary

University of Oklahoma is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused recruitment support specialist to manage requisitions and assist applicants and departmental users. You will post listings, screen candidates, and guide resumes and cover letters, while ensuring accurate data and timely communications with departments.

This role also conducts background checks and supports student and staff hiring programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; equivalency accepted with 54 months related experience.
• 6 months of customer service or related experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Detail oriented with data accuracy.
• Ability to interact with a diverse customer base.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provides requisition and applicant management and customer service support.
• Assists applicants with questions around documents, hiring process, resume, and cover letter guidance.
• Posts requisitions, proofreading, cross checking information, and creating prescreening questions.
• Manages job listings and candidate referrals for students and staff positions; communicates with hiring departments and applicants.
• Moves qualified applicants through the hiring process and assists hiring managers on improving listings.
• Troubleshoots questions for departmental users and handles technical issues.
• Performs background and driver's license checks and files documents.
• Supports hiring programs such as PEAK, Work-Study, Learn & Earn, OU Connect, and Student Job Location Program.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as needed.
