Job summary

Menlo Ventures is seeking an Operations Associate to support supplier onboarding, product incubation, and daily data management in our Retail Ops team in San Francisco.

You will coordinate with Commercial, Legal, and Finance to ensure onboarding readiness, validate SKUs and pricing, maintain trackers, and generate leadership-ready summaries for decision making. This role offers growth in a fast-paced ecommerce environment and close collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in operations, onboarding, or commercial support roles, preferably in ecommerce/retail/FMCG.
• Strong attention to detail and discipline in data entry, tracking, and follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Support the full onboarding process for new suppliers entering the Retail channel and ensure they are registered and ready to trade.
• Drive SKU onboarding and assortment checks to ensure new items are properly listed and categorized.
• Maintain data accuracy, update supply information, and produce basic operational reports for leadership.

Supplier Onboarding & Administration

• Support the full onboarding process for new secondary and longtail suppliers entering the Retail channel. You are the operational anchor ensuring that every new supplier is properly registered, documented, and ready to trade.
• Support new supplier onboarding process, from initial registration to go-live readiness
• Ensure required documents are complete, valid, and compliant with internal standards before activation
• Coordinate with internal teams (Commercial, Legal, Finance) to resolve onboarding blockers and pending tasks
• Track onboarding pipeline status and proactively follow up with suppliers on outstanding requirements
• Maintain organized records of all onboarded suppliers, their status, and key contact information

New Item Incubation & Assortment Support

• Drive the incubation of newly onboarded SKUs, ensuring they are properly set up, competitively positioned, and given the best chance to gain traction in the Retail channel. You validate assortment alignment and support early-stage performance.
• Perform SKU onboarding and assortment checking to ensure new items are correctly listed and categorized
• Cross-check supermarket assortment against Lazada assortment to identify gaps and alignment opportunities
• Validate SKU pricing, stock availability, and promotion setup to ensure competitiveness at launch
• Support Lazada campaign participation for newly onboarded items, coordinating with Commercial and Marketing teams
• Monitor early performance signals (sales velocity, conversion, availability) and flag items needing intervention
• Work with Category Managers to align new item incubation with assortment strategy and hunting lists

Daily Operations & Data Management

• Keep the operational backbone running smoothly. You maintain accurate data, update supply information, and ensure that the team has reliable trackers and reports to make decisions.
• Update supply price and SKU information in internal systems, ensuring data accuracy at all times
• Pull sales data and maintain daily trackers that give the team real-time visibility into supplier and SKU performance
• Prepare basic operational reports and summaries for leadership review
• Follow up with suppliers and internal teams on pending tasks, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
• Handle other daily operational tasks as needed, supporting the broader Retail Operations function

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
• 1 to 3 years of experience in operations, onboarding, or commercial support roles, preferably within e-commerce, retail, or FMCG
• Experience with supplier onboarding processes, document validation, or vendor management is a strong plus
• Basic understanding of assortment management, SKU setup, and pricing operations in an e-commerce context
• Strong attention to detail and discipline in data entry, tracking, and follow-up
• Ability to manage multiple work-streams and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Solid proficiency in Spreadsheet (i.e. Excel); ability to build and maintain trackers and summaries
• Willingness to learn and grow within a progressive Retail team that values initiative and curiosity
