Job summary

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support onboarding and HR operations at our Frontlines headquarters in Salt Lake City, on-site. You will handle background checks, badge management, onboarding coordination, and HRIS support using Workday.

We seek at least two years HR experience, an associate degree, familiarity with HRIS/ATS, and strong written and verbal communication. SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years' HR related work experience.
• Experience with HRIS or ATS; Workday experience a plus.
• Associate degree required.
• SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform background checks and/or reference checks for new employees and contractors.
• Maintain employee and contractor badges and transit passes.
• Track new hires and collaborate with Talent Acquisition during onboarding.
• Support HRIS (Workday) for data integrity and security.
• Maintain confidential employee records.
• Handle onboarding administrative activities.
