Job summary

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support onboarding and HR operations at our Frontlines headquarters in Salt Lake City, on-site. You will handle background checks, badge management, onboarding coordination, and HRIS support using Workday.

We seek at least two years HR experience, an associate degree, familiarity with HRIS/ATS, and strong written and verbal communication. SHRM or HRCI certification is preferred.

Job description

At the Utah Transit Authority (UTA, we put people first- both our employees and our community. As a Human Resources Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting and empowering our workforce, helping create a positive and efficient HR experience while tackling new challenges and making an impact every day. This position will be part of UTA's onboarding team and will be responsible to:

  • Perform background checks and/or reference checks, fingering printing system and courts for new employees and contractors.
  • Maintain employee and contractor badges, transit passes including dependent passes and badging system.
  • Track new hires and collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HRBP's when onboarding employees to ensure a positive experience throughout the process.
  • Directly support UTA's Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Workday, to ensure data integrity, system security, and operational efficiency.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day HRIS system operations and serve as a technical liaison with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources to optimize HR processes.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HRIS procedures in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and update confidential employee records.
  • Perform operational and administrative activities related to onboarding new employees.

This is an on-site position at our Frontlines headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:
  • Two years' HR related work experience.
  • Work experience in HRIS, ATS or other related software applications.
  • Experience with Workday a plus.
  • Associate's degree or related field required.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.

Pay Range: $25.82 or more, depending on experience As a full-time Administrative Employee, your Total Rewards Benefits Package will include:
