Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking a Line Cook to join our shipboard culinary team for the 2026 season aboard river vessels. You will work with the Executive/Sous Chef to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner using fresh ingredients and regional specialties.

This full-time, exempt position requires at least 2 years of culinary experience, strong food safety knowledge, and the ability to live and work aboard a vessel for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in full-service settings.
• Experience cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Familiar with food safety standards.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead and manage time in a busy kitchen.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef to produce diversified meals using fresh ingredients.
• Organize workload to make kitchen processes efficient.
• Produce high-quality dishes following established menu choices.
• Adhere to guests' dietary requests.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards throughout all stages.
• Ensure meals are prepared quickly and deliciously.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers during service.
