Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks Lead Line Cooks to join the shipboard team for the 2026 season aboard America’s rivers. You will assist the Executive and Sous Chefs in preparing all meals, ensuring quality, safety, and timely service on board.

The role requires line experience across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and buffets, plus a proven track record in high-standard kitchen environments. Competitive benefits and shipboard lifestyle are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience at a full-service restaurant, hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
• Must have “Line” experience with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and buffets.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
• US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Control inventory and minimize food waste using standardized recipes.
• Acknowledge and prepare all special requests and allergies.
• Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation policies in the galley.
• Provide gracious hospitality to guests and crew while remaining safe and efficient.
• Follow the Chefs Manual standards and procedures and ensure proper meals are served.
• Supervise galley stewards and ensure daily hygiene and logs are completed.
