Job summary

Canyon Spirit in Denver, CO seeks a Culinary Host to deliver upscale meals and guest engagement aboard rail journeys between Colorado and Utah. You will prepare, plate, and present dishes, maintain galley operations, and contribute to a collaborative onboard culture while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires English fluency, a High School Diploma or GED, Utah permits for food handling and on-premise alcohol, travel availability 12–15 days per three weeks, weekends/holidays

Qualifications

• Fluency in English required; additional languages are an asset.
• Utah Food Handler and Utah On-Premise Alcohol Server permits required for all team members.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• Previous culinary, cooking, serving, or hospitality experience considered a strong asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid identification that meets domestic travel requirements (state ID, driver’s license, or passport).

Responsibilities

• Engage confidently with guests, explain menu offerings, manage orders, and accommodate dietary requirements with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain solid knowledge of all menu offerings and relate dishes to guests, answering questions accurately and making recommendations.
• Prepare, plate, and present meals per Canyon Spirit recipes, menus, and presentation standards.
• Coordinate service timing with management and onboard teams for a seamless guest experience.
• Conduct food audits and communicate quality, presentation, packaging, or inventory concerns to leadership.
• Take ownership of resolving guest concerns and creating positive interactions.
