Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

Base location: Aurora, IL; travel is frequent and must maintain safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and 2+ years in a railroad environment, with strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate complex

Qualifications

• Proficiency with tablets and smartphones for coordinating train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational abilities.
• Ability to travel for extended periods (months).
• Valid driver's license and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum railroad experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as derails and track signs.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews.
• Conduct thorough crew briefings before entering the track.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
