Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) to deliver essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs across the United States. The role requires extensive travel and strong safety oversight.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years in a railroad environment (maintenance of way preferred), and proficiency with tablets and radios for coordination with crews and dispatchers.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets, smartphones and communication tools for coordination of train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to travel for extended periods, sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate worksite safety status.
• Conduct mandatory clear, concise job briefings with all crew members before track entry.
• Enforce all Railroad, State and Federal Policies.
