Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The role requires travel 50% to 85% of the time and the ability to operate with tablets and mobile devices, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Pay ranges from $28 to $37 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication required.
• Proficiency with tablets, smartphones and coordination tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods; may be months at a time.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up of derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report on any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate worksite safety status.
• Conduct mandatory clear, concise, and thorough job briefings with all crew members before they enter the track.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
