Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Greensboro, NC to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The position requires proficiency with tablets and smartphones, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to travel long periods. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma are required, with at least 2 years in a railroad environment

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety setup (derails, track signs, safety tools).
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination and safety measures.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct clear, concise safety briefings before crews enter the track.
• Enforce railroad, state, and federal policies.
