National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners in Burlington, VT.

The role requires coordinating train movements using tablets and smartphones, delivering clear job-site briefings, and ensuring compliance with railroad policies. Travel is expected 50% to 85% of the time.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets, smartphones, and communication tools to support train movement coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods, sometimes months at a time.
• Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in maintenance of way.
• Ability to complete Federal, Client, and/or Company training.

Responsabilités

• Provide On-Track Safety such as setting up derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory clear, concise job briefings with all crew members before entering the track.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
