Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. in Knoxville, TN seeks an Employee in Charge to oversee on-track safety operations for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs. This role requires travel up to 85% and strong coordination with crews.

The candidate will lead safety briefings, set up safety tools, report field activities, and enforce policies while maintaining clear radio communication with dispatchers and trains. A high school diploma and railroad experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a railroad company (preferably in MOW).
• Ability to travel up to 85% and work outdoors.
• Proficient with tablets, smartphones and coordination tools.
• Must pass pre-employment training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety setup (derails, track signs, safety tools).
• Prepare daily field reports and report violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct thorough crew briefings before entering track.
• Enforce Railroad, State and Federal policies.
