National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge in Memphis, TN to oversee on-track safety operations for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs. This role emphasizes safety compliance, field reporting, and crew coordination on active rights-of-way.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in railroad environments, strong communication, and the ability to travel extensively. Training and certification efforts are part of the job, with a competitive hourly

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets and smartphones for coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods; sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in MOW.
• Ability to complete Federal, Client, and Company-specific training.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as set up derails and track signs.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination for crews.
• Maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews on safety status.
• Conduct clear, concise job briefings with all crew members before track entry.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
