National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge to deliver essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs in Austin, TX. The role emphasizes field coordination, safety briefings, and adherence to policies across busy rights‑of‑way environments.

The position requires travel 50–85% of the time, strong communication, and a valid driver's license, with background in railroad maintenance of way preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency in tablets, smartphones, and communication tools to support train movement coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods; sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferably in Maintenance of Way
• Ability to complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Training.

Responsabilités

• Provide On-Track Safety such as derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate safety status.
• Conduct mandatory briefings with all crew members before entering the track.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
