Job summary

Captain's Choice Marine – Leesville, SC is seeking a Marine Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of recreational boats at our on-the-water facility. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, works well with customers, and can test boats on the lake, install electronics, and document service quality while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Marine technology certification or related mechanical training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a marine technician or similar role.
• Strong understanding of marine engines and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and troubleshoot efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose issues with engines, electrical components, and boat systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines.
• Water-test boats from the on-the-water location for performance checks.
• Install and troubleshoot marine electronics and accessories.
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings to customers.
• Ensure repairs meet safety and manufacturer standards.
• Stay current with industry advancements and training.
