Job summary

Independence Demolition, a division of Independence Excavating, seeks a Traveling Site Safety Specialist to join our field safety team. This role travels 100% of the time to job sites, conducting inspections, drills, and trainings for field crews and developing site-specific safety plans.

You will report to the Demolition Safety Manager, coordinate with subcontractors, maintain safety paperwork, perform post-incident reports, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and EPA standards.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required.
• 4 years’ experience in construction safety or managerial safety role.
• Must be able to travel 100% of the time to job sites.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ICC regulations.
• Clear written communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Complete in-house site inspections, fire drills, and training.
• Maintain and audit safety paperwork required by project owner and subcontractors.
• Perform post-incident reports for safety-related incidents.
• Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific health and safety plans.
• Assist in coordinating industrial hygiene compliance on job sites.
• Conduct safety and compliance inspections on projects, shops, yards, and offices.
• Monitor safety programs, inspections, investigations, and training.
