Job summary

Burwell Material Handling, LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites across Chesapeake, VA. You will diagnose and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment, using diagnostic tools, and provide preventative maintenance while growing your technical skills.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and a willingness to travel within the service territory; training and growth opportunities are available in a growing

Qualifications

• Experience in forklift or heavy equipment repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and meet physical demands.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel within service territory.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, boom lifts, and other warehouse vehicles.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, LP/diesel engine, and electrical system issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to pinpoint and fix problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Service multiple brands and participate in manufacturer-certified training.
• Promote service offerings and inspect/maintain service vehicle and inventory.
