Job summary

Burwell Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites across Chilhowie, Virginia, performing service and repair on forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial lifts, and related equipment. You’ll work independently with strong team backing, receive ongoing training, and grow your career with a company expanding its footprint.

Qualifications

Prior experience in forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive repair.
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel within the assigned service territory.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, boom lifts, and other warehouse vehicles.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, LP/diesel engine, and electrical system issues.
Use diagnostic tools to pinpoint and fix problems.
Perform preventative maintenance to keep customer equipment running smoothly.
Service multiple brands including Hyundai, Bobcat, Clark, Genie, JLG, and Skyjack.
Participate in manufacturer‑certified training to stay up to date on equipment and repair techniques.
Promote service offerings like maintenance programs, inspections, and parts.
Inspect and maintain your service vehicle, tools, and inventory for safety and readiness.
Support and mentor junior techs when needed.
