Job summary

The On-The-Job Trainer (OJT) at Contec Inc. supports the Warehouse department with daily shipping/receiving tasks and the training needed to master these duties.

The role emphasizes mentoring new associates, ensuring understanding of processes and safety rules, and providing training for all warehouse equipment. You will monitor performance, assist with training forecasts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen activities with Supervisors and Operators to raise throughput

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience in warehouse and/or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office preferred.

Overview

The On-The-Job Trainer (OJT) position directly assists the Warehouse department with the day-to-day shipping/receiving functions and training necessary for associates to master and complete functional tasks in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for mentoring and training new associates, process improvement implementation, efficiency performance, quality, and evaluation of specified job functions reporting to the Logistics Manager / Supervisors.
• Ensures new associates understand warehouse processes and safety rules.
• Provides training and retraining for all warehouse equipment.
• Tracks team and individual Warehouse performance.
• Assists the Logistics Manager, Supervisors, Safety and Training departments as a dedicated instructor in preparing and implementing the daily, weekly, and/or monthly training forecast to ensure that associate's receive timely and adequate training to perform their jobs.
• Assesses and documents associate performance and provides appropriate feedback to the Supervisor in a timely manner.
• Identifies additional training needs that may fall outside the existing traditional operational procedures and identifies needs such as lean development and continuous/process improvement of the workstation, organizes Kaizen activities for process improvement with Supervisors, Leads and Operators to improve performance and throughput.
• Works with Maintenance, R&D, Quality and Process Engineering to plan, develop, test, and implement new processes, products, and upgrades to assigned workstations.
• Assists Supervisors with the individual and team requirements of each warehouse position, including forklift operation, to help provide work coverage during PTO or position vacanc y.
• Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.

Qualifications/Requirements

High school diploma or GED; one (1) to three (3) years of experience and/or training in warehouse and/or manufacturing operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• One year of related associate training experience, including new hire department training of Contec associates, is preferred.
• Experience working within large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is also preferred.
