Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Wisconsin is seeking a Technical Trainer to drive operator training and certification at our Pleasant Prairie facility. The role reports to the site General Manager and collaborates with Operations Learning & Development to ensure timely on-floor training completion.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of manufacturing training experience, strong facilitation and MS Office skills, and the ability to work across shifts to improve safety, quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience conducting/leading training in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Facilitation/presentation skills and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily technical training on the floor to assist with certification.
• Partners with OPS L&D to support new hire orientation and onboarding training.
• Tracks, evaluates, and measures training using company tools and standards.
• Supports creation of site-specific training materials (SOPs, workflows, aids).
• Builds relationships with trainees and site leaders; participates in hiring processes.
• Delivers training across all shifts and promotes safety-minded behaviors.
• Supports train-the-trainer processes and day-to-day certification management.
