Job summary

PPG Quality is hiring an on-site Workforce Coordinator at the Huntsville/Madison, AL automotive plant. The role runs check-in, orientation, interviews, and roster management while owning a weekly compliance audit for the client.

It operates in a fast-paced environment requiring calmness under pressure and strong record-keeping. Responsibilities include safety observations, PPE checks, training verification, near-miss reporting, and incident documentation, with escalation as needed and adherence

Qualifications

• Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written (required).
• 2+ years in manufacturing, staffing or on-site coordination, recruiting, or a shift/team lead role.
• Organized, accurate with documentation, comfortable with spreadsheets and an ATS/HRIS.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site every scheduled shift.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen per client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Run day-shift check-in at the start of each shift; track attendance and no-shows; coordinate same-day backfill with the PPG branch.
• Serve as the daily point of contact for plant supervisors and leadership; attend the client's daily staffing huddle.
• Schedule and support candidate interviews with client supervisors.
• Deliver new-hires orientation and complete onboarding paperwork for every new start.
• Own the weekly compliance audit: reconcile hours against plant records, onboarding and safety-training completion, roster integrity, and report open-requisition aging.
• Deliver a weekly performance scorecard to the client.
• Resolve day-to-day workforce issues and escalate per PPG process.
• Maintain the shift handoff log for the evening coordinator.
• Communicate in English and Spanish with workers, supervisors and candidates.
