Job summary

Hoffman Construction is seeking a Project Engineer for our Water Reclamation Facility Project in Boise, Idaho. The role provides essential technical and administrative support to the on-site Engineering Department and coordinates with design professionals, subcontractors, and client stakeholders to resolve field coordination issues.

Reporting to the Program Engineer, you will help drive milestones while upholding safety, quality, and constructability standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Project Engineering experience in commercial building construction, water treatment facility exp preferred.
• Deep understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and commissioning workflows.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent craft-level experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support meetings involving area managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Interface between area managers and subcontractors to resolve field coordination items.
• Review and interpret design drawings, construction documents, and technical manuals; quantify materials.
• Coordinate all CSA systems within the overall project scope.
• Assist with organizing and facilitating training of client personnel in operations and maintenance of CSA elements.
• Review shop drawings and submittals; cross-coordinate for constructability.
• Generate, receive, and distribute RFIs.
• Receive and distribute change documents, bulletins, and field directives.
• Support BIM coordination; participate in clash detection and resolution.
• Participate in QA/QC activities, including pre-functional testing and start-up.
• Assist in commissioning and turnover of systems.
• Serve as technical advisor at the on-site field construction office.
• Provide technical field support including layout, verification, and sequencing of installations.
• Attend pre-installation meetings; document as-built conditions.
• Collaborate with MEP engineers to ensure integration of architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
