Job summary

Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) in Carson City seeks a Transportation Planner/Analyst 1 to support the Planning/Roadways Division. The role ensures accurate, timely geospatial data products for state and federal reporting and planning needs.

Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, forecasting, and coordination with public and private stakeholders. On-site work emphasis and collaboration with multiple modes—aviation, bikes, freight, transit—are core to the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1 year of professional experience in transportation analysis/planning or related field.
• Ability to develop studies, reports and planning documents spanning long and short horizons.
• Experience collecting, analyzing data and forecasting trends for transportation planning.

Responsibilities

• Participate in transportation system analysis, planning or research programs.
• Monitor and implement state and federal funding and planning requirements.
• Supervise consultants and assist recipients in applying for funding.
• Oversee installation/operation of field data collection equipment (traffic data, GPS).
• Conduct studies to facilitate multimodal transportation planning and decisions.
• Coordinate training and outreach for department staff and stakeholders.
