Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc (GPI) seeks motivated Construction Inspectors to support project work across Ohio. You will perform daily field inspections on bridges, roads, and related utilities, measure quantities, and read plans to ensure conformance with project specs.

This role requires strong documentation, plan-reading skills, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Candidates should have 5+ years of field experience, relevant ODOT certifications, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Five years of field experience in bridge/roadway construction and testing preferred.
• All applicable ODOT certifications.
• Experience with ODOT documentation and Field Manager/Field Book.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and ODOT standards and practices.
• Valid driver's license with clean MVR and ability to travel to sites.
• Read/write English; basic computer skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).
• Physical ability: stand, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of heavy highway/bridge projects.
• Measure, compute, record, and maintain contract quantities.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and standards.
• Perform material sampling/testing per project specs.
• Ensure work/materials meet standards.
• Document daily progress, conformance/nonconformance, manpower, quantities.
• Enter progress and documentation into SiteManager and ProjectWise.
• Identify issues and communicate with project managers and contractor.
• Identify and communicate unsafe conditions.
