Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a on-site Field Inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations. The role involves direct supervision by senior inspectors and engineers, inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, layouts, and materials to ensure project quality and safety.

You will review daily reports, verify QC procedures, and may perform sampling and testing of soil, concrete and asphalt. Travel 20–40% is expected based on workload.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 0 years experience; equivalent related experience considered.
• Travel may be required; frequency varies with workload.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review and recommend acceptance or rejection of daily contractor reports and QC procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract.
• May perform sampling and in-place testing of soils, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt pavement.
