Job summary

S&L Industrial is seeking a Traffic Control Estimator to join our in-person team at our Billings, MT or Cowley, WY offices, collaborating with our Corporate Estimating Team in Omaha. You will review plans, prepare take-offs, and develop competitive bids to help secure roadway safety projects across the region.

The role requires 2+ years of estimating experience in traffic control or related fields, proficiency in Bid2Win and MS Office, and willingness to travel ~20%.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic control estimating experience.
• Experience estimating traffic control, pavement marking, roadway safety, or highway construction projects preferred.
• Experience with estimating software such as Bid2Win is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals.
• Coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and communicate project scope.
• Partner with Operations on scheduling, staffing, and project execution.
• Track bid results and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and industry partners.
