Job summary

StevenDouglas is partnering with an oil and gas client in West Houston seeking an Interim Terminal Inventory Analyst for a contract role on-site. You will ensure timely inventory movements and collaborate with scheduling, trading, and field teams to resolve discrepancies, while supporting month-end closings.

The position emphasizes strong accounting, inventory reconciliation experience, and readiness to travel to terminal sites for physical counts. Training on RightAngle/SAP is provided.

Qualifications

• Inventory reconciliation experience required; fluids, liquids, petrochemicals, or oil & gas background preferred.
• Strong accounting foundation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with RightAngle and/or SAP is a plus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, timely actualization of hydrocarbon inventory movements across terminal and pipeline systems.
• Collaborate with scheduling, trading, supply contract administration, master data, and terminal field teams to analyze and resolve volumetric issues and third-party inventory discrepancies.
• Ensure terminal inventory positions are balanced ahead of month-end close deadlines so all relevant transactions are captured in current-month earnings.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities affecting inventory and terminal agreement revenue.
• Travel to terminal locations to conduct physical inventory count observations alongside supply, terminal operations, and internal audit teams.
