Job summary

Rochester Institute of Technology's NTID is seeking a full-time on-site Lab/Equipment Specialist to support the Visual Communications Studies Department. Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 4 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
• Experience supporting instructional laboratories, studios, or production environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance and support to students, faculty, and researchers in the design, planning, and execution of laboratory activities
• Aids in the fabrication, prototyping, and testing of experimental materials, models, and devices
• Sets up, calibrates, maintains, and performs minor repairs of equipment, instruments, and tools
• Monitors laboratory operations and procedures to promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols
• Enforces the proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials and waste
• Performs administrative duties related to scheduling, resource management, inventory tracking, and record-keeping laboratory activities
• Other duties as assigned
