Job summary

Mabe Steel Inc. in Kernersville, NC, is seeking a Foreman to oversee field‑level structural steel erection on active construction sites. You will lead crews, read erection drawings, coordinate with crane operators and site trades, and ensure daily progress and safety compliance.

You will report to Field Ops. Director and mentor Lead Men and ironworkers while maintaining production schedules under variable weather and site conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural steel erection experience with crew leadership.
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills.
• Working knowledge of bolting, welding and rigging.
• OSHA 30 preferred; rigging and signaling certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily structural steel erection operations at ground level and heights.
• Plan the day’s work, assign crews and tasks, keep production on schedule.
• Read erection drawings and list; sequence steel to keep cranes moving.
• Run daily safety meetings and enforce fall protection and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate with crane operator, general contractor and inspectors; track progress and report daily.
• Identify problems early and elevate to Project Manager.
• Train and develop Lead Men and newer ironworkers.
