Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Iron Workers for a project in Conyers, GA. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

The role involves assembling and positioning structural steel, operating hoisting equipment, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards on site. Candidates must be able to travel as needed and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the project duration.

Qualifications

• Written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Observe safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
• Complete all safety and general job training as required by SIC.

Responsibilities

• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Fastens steel members to cable of hoist using chain, cable, or rope.
• Signals operator to lift and place steel member.
• Guides member using tag line (rope).
• Pulls, pushes, or pries steel members into position while supported by hoist.
• Forces members into final position using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
• Aligns holes in member with holes in previously placed member.
• Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment with plumb bob and level.
• Bolts aligned members to keep them in position until permanently bolted or welded.
• Alters steel members as needed.
• Detects and responds to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required.
