Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation is seeking a New STG Generator Installation Technical Advisor to lead on-site installation activities for steam turbine generators and auxiliaries. You will work closely with EPC contractors, TAES project teams, and Toshiba Japan to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred. Equivalent combo of training and field experience considered.
10-15 years of field experience in generator installation, erection, pre-commissioning, or commissioning within power generation.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical advisory support for installation and assembly of new steam turbine generators and auxiliary systems.
Long-term project site assignments (domestic and international), typically 4–6 months per site.
Ensure installation activities follow design drawings, specs, manuals and quality requirements.
Serve as primary technical interface between EPC contractors, TAES project management, and Toshiba Japan engineering.
Review and validate EPC generator installation procedures, lift plans, work sequences and method statements.
Perform, witness, and document all CTQ inspections and hold points.
Verify alignments, elevations, clearances, torques, interfaces, cleanliness, and preservation requirements.
Provide technical oversight of hydrogen cooling, seal oil systems, and related auxiliaries.
Identify and resolve installation non-conformances with engineering and quality teams.
Offer technical guidance to EPC supervision and craft labor to resolve field issues.
Participate in site safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
Support installation walk-downs, mechanical completion verification, and handover readiness.
