Addison Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in Fairfax, VA on-site. The role supports core accounting functions, financial reporting, and operational accounting processes while collaborating with internal departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial transactions and account activity to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to revenues, expenses, and other accounting activities.
• Assist with monthly cash reconciliations and record associated journal entries.
• Review, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and vendor invoices.
• Prepare vouchers and supporting documentation for vendor payments.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Support inventory accounting processes and reconcile related general ledger accounts.
• Assist with billing and collections activities, including preparing invoices, researching discrepancies, monitoring outstanding receivables, and supporting follow-up efforts on overdue accounts.
• Utilize accounting and business systems to support financial reporting and operational processes.
• Assist with month-end close activities and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's/Associate's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field (strongly preferred)
