Taurus Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations in Long Beach, CA. The role focuses on month-end close, multi-company accounting, and accurate financial records under U.S. GAAP.

You will work across AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting, with backup payroll support and exposure to internal controls. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity with a strong benefits package.

Qualifikationen

• BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• High level of skill in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP software programs preferred.
• Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to support the team.
• Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization.
• Meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Aufgaben

• Proficiency in multi-company operations.
• Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification.
• Evaluate and post customer deposits.
• Update Daily Transaction Journals for all companies.
• Assist Month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Reconcile Module Period End Reports to General Ledger.
• Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards.
• Manage accounts payable: process vendor invoices, ensure appropriate coding, and support timely payment execution.
• Prepare and post accurate journal entries, including month-end accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and fixed asset transactions.
• Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies.
• Backup for payroll processing.
• Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities.
• Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools.
• Assist with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation.
• Assist with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Help identify and implement improvements in internal processes, systems, and reporting workflows.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis, process improvement initiatives, and other special projects assigned.
