Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher preferred; associates accepted or 3+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of the community, culture, and values of the language group.
• Ability to interpret between English and the target language per proficiency assessment.
• Credentialing in medical interpreting with Hands Up Communications is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate on-site, online, and phone interpreting across medical, legal, social services, and educational settings.
• Interpret accurately between languages and repeat critical information.
• Provide grammatically correct translations.
• Maintain punctuality and inform scheduling staff if issues arise.
• Collaborate with other interpreters when needed.
• Represent Hands Up Communications professionally in the field.
• Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality.
