Job summary

Hands Up Communications seeks a Russian language interpreter (independent contractor) to provide on-site, online, and phone interpreting services with confidentiality and professionalism. The role requires adherence to ethical standards across hospitals, courts, and schools.

Qualified candidates may have a BA (or AA) and 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent credentials in medical interpreting. Flexible assignments and compliance with Hands Up Communications protocols are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts degree preferred; Associates of Arts degree accepted or 3+ years of experience in lieu of formal degree.
• Knowledge of the community, culture, and values of the people and language to be interpreted.
• Credentialed in medical interpreting completed or in progress with Hands Up Communications.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate on-site, online, and phone interpreting accurately.
• Interpret between English and the target language with confidentiality.
• Maintain competence and professionalism in all assignments.
• Coordinate with scheduling staff for timely sessions.
• Adhere to ethical standards across settings (hospital, court, school).
