Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Software Engineer Level 3 or 4 to join our Payload & Ground Software Engineering team supporting a Ground program. The role requires hands-on development on Linux/Unix, collaboration in a fast-paced environment, and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance (US citizenship).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of software development experience OR Master’s with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year; additional 4+ years in lieu of degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required.
• Experience developing applications on Linux/Unix.
• Exposure to Agile principles and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Basic understanding of asynchronous messaging systems (NATS, ActiveMQ, gRPC).
• Working knowledge of server-side languages including Python, C++, Node.js, Go, or Java.
• Familiarity with integrating systems using data-driven design and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of integration best practices, subsystem interfaces, APIs, and complex workflows.
