StratasCorp is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support the Security Operations Center in Chesapeake, VA. You will monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats, working with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR technologies while mentoring junior analysts.

The role emphasizes incident response, threat detection, and continuous improvement of security operations in a mission-focused environment, with on-site work at the customer facility in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, informatics, information systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of full-time cybersecurity engineering/operations/incident response experience.
• Current Security+ (DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, monitoring, threat detection, investigation, and response processes.
• Ability to analyze events, identify root causes, and recommend mitigations.
• Strong analytic, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• On-site work at the customer's Chesapeake, VA facility (not remote).

Responsabilités

• Support daily SOC operations: monitoring, threat detection, incident analysis and response.
• Identify and analyze potential threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity.
• Assist incident investigations: determine root cause, impact, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Incident Management during security incidents and escalations.
• Develop and tune SIEM detection rules, correlation logic, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with NOC and security teams to improve SOC performance.
