Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting represents a growing project management consultancy hiring a Project Manager for Utility T&D and Substations in on-site markets including Akron, PA, Reading, PA and Richmond, VA. You will lead electric utility capital projects from preconstruction through energization, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and field teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant project/construction management experience
• Direct electric utility T&D and/or Substation project-management experience is required
• Experience supporting utility construction project sites
• Experience managing projects through construction/execution phase
• Experience with transmission line construction/rebuilds, distribution upgrades, substations, or transformer equipment
• Experience managing contractors and subcontractors
• Budgets, forecasts, schedules and cost controls
• RFIs, submittals, change orders and project closeout
• Strong engineering/construction coordination experience
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; significant utility experience may substitute
• PMP certification or willingness to obtain within six months
• OSHA 10/30 preferred
• Primavera P6 and/or MS Project experience preferred
• On-site in assigned market; US work authorization without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of electric utility capital projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
• Own project scope, schedule, budget, forecasting and cost controls
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and utility operations
• Lead preconstruction, progress, contractor and client meetings
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and contract administration
• Coordinate outages, permitting, ROW and environmental requirements
• Monitor field construction for safety, quality, schedule and cost performance
• Manage project risks and drive schedule, cost and construction solutions
• Coordinate procurement and material/equipment requirements
• Support testing, commissioning, startup and energization
• Prepare project status, cost, schedule and risk reporting
• Manage turnover documentation, punch lists, warranties and closeout
• Manage multiple projects and maintain client relationships
