Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector in Columbia, Maryland seeks a Senior System Administrator to maintain and secure enterprise IT systems on-site at customer locations. You will provide helpdesk and troubleshooting support, manage configurations, and coordinate with cybersecurity and other teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in systems administration, has experience with Windows/Linux/VMware, incident resolution, and change control, and can obtain the required security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering or related field.
• Eight years of relevant systems administration or infrastructure-support experience.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, VMware, enterprise applications, hardware and software.
• Experience with incident resolution, system maintenance, technical documentation, and change-control processes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, monitor, patch, upgrade, and maintain enterprise systems.
• Support Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, access, performance, connectivity, and availability issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Support backups, restoration, and continuity procedures.
• Implement security patches, configuration changes, and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor system health, capacity, and logs; maintain documentation.
