Job summary

Actalent in Boston, MA seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead on-site construction for complex ground-up and renovation projects in dense urban environments. You will manage field operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while mentoring field staff.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Experience delivering projects in dense urban environments with occupied neighborhoods.
• Experience managing multifamily, mixed-use, podium, and urban ground-up projects.
• Proven experience with large-scale ground-up and/or complex renovation projects.
• Strong background in construction management and commercial construction.
• Ability to plan and execute with minimal disruption to surrounding areas.
• Excellent communication with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and field staff.
• Leadership to direct, motivate and develop on-site teams.
• Proactive problem-solving for field challenges and schedule impacts.
• Familiarity with construction management software and scheduling tools.
• OSHA 10 certification and MA CSL license.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities and act as primary field representative for assigned projects.
• Develop and update project schedules with Project Management.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel for timely execution.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and adherence to documents.
• Resolve field challenges and schedule impacts proactively.
• Enforce safety policies and OSHA compliance.
• Lead subcontractor, safety, and coordination meetings.
• Review documents to ensure accurate field execution.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Manage logistics, site access, materials, storage, sequencing, and workforce planning.
• Oversee punch lists, turnover, and project closeout.
• Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and Field Engineers.
• Plan construction in dense urban environments with minimal disruption to others.
• Coordinate with municipalities and stakeholders on site logistics and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and client expectations.
