Job summary

DRS RADA Technologies is hiring a Senior Production Planner to join our team on-site at our Germantown, MD location.

The Senior Production Planner develops, maintains, and executes the Master Production Schedule to ensure production capacity, material availability, and on-time delivery, partnering with production, materials, contracts, program management, planning and manufacturing teams to establish stable schedules and resolve delivery issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience.
Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships.
Strong background in project material management.
Extensive experience in production planning.
Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, as well as Sharepoint.
Excellent understanding of MRP systems.

Responsibilities

Create the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on production capacity and material availability.
Obtain agreement from production, materials and program office before execution of the MPS.
Maintain the MPS files.
Ensure closeout of old programs/jobs and disposition of requisitions and inventory.
Monitor shipping performance to MPS and contracts; create tracking reports.
Track and report changes to each MPS.
Interfacing with contracts, planning, master scheduling and production to create and maintain the Internal Operating Plan.
Ensure product moves from production to packaging to shipping.
Create reports showing actual shipments against projections.
Work closely with manufacturing to establish and evolve a stable manufacturing schedule.
Improve current system, functions, and daily operations to meet goals.
Reschedule daily delivery requirements for re-plan.
