Job summary

Leonardo DRS is hiring a Senior Planner to join our Germantown, MD team. The ideal candidate has at least five years of planning experience in the aerospace or defense industry and experience supporting DoD programs.

The Senior Planner will create and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS), coordinate with production, materials, and contracts, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining IOPs and manufacturing stability. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience.
• Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships.
• Strong background in project material management.
• Extensive experience in production planning.
• Excellent use of Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Create the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on production capacity, materials availability and contractual requirements.
• Obtain agreement from production, materials and program office before execution of the MPS.
• Maintain the MPS files.
• Ensure closeout of old programs/jobs including disposition of requisitions, purchase orders and residual inventory.
• Monitor shipping performance to MPS and contract and create tracking reports.
• Track and report changes to each MPS.
• Interfacing with contracts, planning, master scheduling and production to create and maintain the IOP.
• Ensure product moves from production to packaging to shipping.
• Create reports showing actual shipments against projections.
• Work with manufacturing to maintain a stable schedule.
• Improve current systems and daily operations to meet goals.
• Reschedule daily delivery requirements when re-plan is needed.
• Consolidate demand for purchase requisitions.
• Support and defend company mission, values and culture.
