Job summary

Spherion Brooksville, FL is seeking an approachable Staff Accountant to partner with our CEO on-site. This role goes beyond bookkeeping, driving daily financial operations, improving cash flow, and removing bottlenecks to support leadership.

You will handle P&L, reconciliations, resident trust accounts, and AHCA-compliant billing using QuickBooks Online. Expect 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on-site work and collaboration with a small nonprofit finance team.

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of general accounting or full-charge bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and core accounting tools.
• Strong GL maintenance, reconciliations, and financial report preparation.
• High accuracy in cash management and resident accounts.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• On-site availability to work 100% on-site with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily, monthly, and annual accounting processes including P&L and balance sheets.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile bank and credit card statements, and assist budget development.
• Manage resident trust accounts, move funds to trusts, and track receipts and balances.
• Use QuickBooks Online and complete Florida AHCA-related trainings to ensure compliant billing.
