Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to strengthen QA for web applications and REST APIs. You will design and maintain scalable automation frameworks, lead end-to-end test planning, and assess risk to improve testing coverage.

In this role, you will collaborate across distributed teams, define quality standards, integrate tests into pipelines, and mentor junior QA engineers. A strong background in Java/Selenium and open-source tools is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance engineering.
• 2+ years creating and executing performance scripts for web services and database testing.
• Experience designing test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium.
• Experience testing REST APIs and web applications.
• Experience with open-source automation tools such as Karate, SOATest, or Selenium.
• Experience using GitHub or Bitbucket and integrating automated tests into continuous delivery pipelines.
• Experience with Agile development practices, exploratory testing, defect analysis, and test case management.
• Ability to perform Risk Assessment, investigate complex defects, and make informed quality decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define quality standards, acceptance criteria, and practical test strategies for complex initiatives with concurrent releases.
• Integrate automated tests into delivery pipelines and maintain test environments and data.
• Collaborate across distributed teams including software engineering, product, and delivery partners.
• Mentor SDETs or QA engineers and share testing practices.
