Job summary

San Francisco Friends School in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring GAAP compliance. This 100% on-site role involves collaboration with staff, families, and vendors during standard business hours.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of non-profit accounting experience, proficiency with Excel and GAAP, and hands-on experience with Ramp and Blackbaud.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in non-profit or independent school setting.
• Experience with full-cycle payroll using major platform (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Rippling).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations; close monthly/yearly books.
• Support budget maintenance in Blackbaud; analyze variances.
• Coordinate with Development for gifts, pledges, and endowment funds.
• Manage student and auxiliary billing in Blackbaud Tuition Management and external programs.
• Process vendor invoices, Ramp-based credit card reconciliations, and payroll entries.
• Assist Controller for annual audit schedules and permanent files.
