Job summary

De La Salle High School Of Concord in Concord, CA, seeks an on-site accountant to join the finance team. This full-time, year-round role reports to the Controller and manages general ledger activities, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly closings.

Candidates should have at least five years of school or non-profit accounting experience, a bachelor's degree, and proficiency with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of tuition billing and financial aid is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' accounting experience, preferably within a school setting and/or non-profit organization; school experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience with general ledger applications, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact frequently with the Controller, Vice President for Finance, President, other school administrators, Business Office Team members, faculty, and staff.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Blackbaud Tuition Management accounting (or similar financial and billing program applications).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to learn financial accounting software and other programs as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of accounting standards, audit protocols, and internal control procedures, along with all applicable federal and state statutes.
• Manage student billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Process tuition enrollment contracts, cash receipts, and deposits.
• Assist with financial aid applications.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support monthly closings.
• Manage financial transactions and data, and perform analytical work with a high level of accuracy while meeting time-sensitive deadlines despite interruptions.
• Operate as a reliable, organized professional who can prioritize many tasks simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Adhere to confidentiality standards at all times.
