Job summary

We are seeking a Safety Manager for a mechanical construction project on the Meta campus in New Albany, Ohio. The role is a 1099 contractor providing on-site safety oversight for piping installations within two office buildings.

You will enforce OSHA standards, lead safety meetings, monitor activities, and coordinate corrective actions with project leadership, supervisors, subcontractors, and craft personnel in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510 and NFPA 70E required and applicable to active construction sites.
• Experience supporting mechanical, piping, or similar trades on field projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and hazard recognition practices.
• Ability to work around 50 hours per week and coordinate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Enforce site-specific safety plans, policies, and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
• Monitor piping installation and mechanical construction activities.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee safety orientations.
• Verify contractor and trade compliance with established safety procedures.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe work observations.
• Complete incident reports and corrective-action documentation.
• Maintain inspection records, safety logs, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project leadership to address risks and prevent incidents.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project.
